European Scholarship Program

First-time, new Applicants to Schiller International University Heidelberg may be eligible for a European Scholarship, subject to the published scholarship criteria and university policies. Interested new Applicants should consult with an Admission Representative for details.

    To apply for a European Scholarship, new Applicants should review the categories available and criteria to apply, then write a letter explaining why you feel you should be considered for a scholarship grant. Provide whatever supporting documentation you may have (educational background, transcripts, eligibility under one of the scholarship categories, etc..)  and send this with your Application File.  Scholarship Applications will be reviewed by a Scholarship Committee at each Schiller International University campus in Europe.

    Schiller International University reserves the right to amend or cancel its Scholarship program at any time without prior notice. Scholarship grants are limited and may not be available to all eligible candidates.

    Schiller International University is an independent institution with limited funds for  scholarships and grants for students who qualify. Students are encouraged to seek assistance through private or governmental grant or loan programs before applying to the university for aid.

    Bachelors

    Scholarship Guidelines for Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Europe

    1. Approved award will be a 15% scholarship off the published tuition rate in the student’s first Term [or off prevailing tuition rate in future as applicable]. The student must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.25
    2. Applicants must meet the University’s entrance requirements and be enrolled in a Term, as defined by Schiller International University [SIU].
    3. The 15% scholarship will be earned and awarded on a course-by-course basis, up to
    maximum of either 1) five complete Terms or 2) the equivalent of 20 courses.
    4. A student becomes ineligible for a Schiller scholarship at any point in any given Term if his or her GPA drops below 2.25
    5. No scholarships will be awarded to students who are recruited by, and sent to SIU  from, a Schiller International University Partner Agent.
    6. The scholarship program and any awards will apply to new students only.
    7. Scholarship awards are not transferable from campus to campus.
    8. Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a Scholarship Committee at each European campus. Scholarship awards are limited and cannot be guaranteed to all eligible students.
    9. Scholarship recipients would be limited to a maximum of one 15% scholarship; they could not receive multiple scholarships from different categories.
    10. Schiller International University reserves the right to amend or cancel its scholarship program at any time without prior notice.

    Masters

    Scholarship Guidelines for Master’s Degree Programs in Europe

    1. Approved award will be a 15% scholarship off the published tuition rate in the student’s first Term [or off prevailing tuition rate in future as applicable]. The student must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
    2. Applicants must meet the University’s entrance requirements and must be enrolled in a Term, as defined in the Schiller International University [SIU].
    3. The 15% scholarship will be earned and awarded on a course-by-course basis, up to    a maximum of six courses – which must be taken within the student’s first two Terms.
    4. A student becomes ineligible for a Schiller scholarship at any point in a given Term if his or her GPA drops below 3.0
    5. No scholarships will be awarded to students who are recruited by, and sent to SIU from, a Schiller International University Partner Agent.
    6. The scholarships program and any awards will apply to new students only, or to eligible SIU undergraduates who apply for a Master’s degree program.

    Guidelines

    Scholarship Award Categories

     

    Foreign Service Scholarship: Limited financial scholarships offered to individuals currently employed in the foreign service of any country that has diplomatic relations with the USA. Other eligible applicants would include the children and spouse of the primary service member.
    Global Scholarship: Limited financial scholarships offered to individuals from different countries to maintain the overall diversity of Schiller International University’s student body.
    EU Scholarship: Limited financial scholarships offered to citizens of any EU or EEA country.
    Armed Forces Scholarship: Limited financial scholarships offered to active or honorablydischarged veterans of the Armed Forces of the USA, Germany, UK, Spain or France. Other eligible applicants would include the children and spouse of the primary service member.
    Peace Corps Scholarship: Limited financial scholarships offered to volunteers who have served a complete term of enlistment in the US Peace Corps. Other eligible applicants would include the children or spouse of the Peace Corps Volunteer.
    Schiller Alumni Scholarship: Limited financial scholarships offered to SIU undergraduate alumni who attended any SIU campus for a minimum of five semesters and who want to pursue a Master’s. Other eligible applicants would include the children or spouse of the alumnus.
    Academic Merit Scholarship: Limited financial scholarships offered to individuals who have demonstrated high academic achievement before applying to a university. Eligible applicants will include students who have completed a minimum of 12 years study and who have 1) a High School Diploma with an overall grade B+ average or better or 2) 6 GCSEs at grade A or 3) International Baccalaureate at 35 points (or better) or 4) A’ levels at A or better.

     

    Submitted applications for scholarship awards must include evidence of the applicant meeting specific criteria associated with the relevant category.
    Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a Scholarship Committee at each Schiller International University campus in Europe.
    Scholarship awards are limited, subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed to all eligible applicants.
