4.  Course Description:

This course is a survey of European History from the medieval Era to 1815.  Its purpose is to familiarize students with the mainline political, socio-economic and cultural developments in this time period; to show students how Europe evolved from the fall of theRoman Empirethrough the Early Modern Era.  It should provide students with general background material, serving as a compliment to their area of concentration or as an introduction to further work in history or related fields.

Upon Successful completion of this course, students be able to:
